Power battery module
- The power battery module is the "heart" of the power battery pack, which is responsible for storing and releasing energy to provide power for electric vehicles. Power battery module can be understood as multiple packs composed of power battery cells in series and parallel. Pack is a single component, which means packaging, packaging and assembly. Its process is divided into three parts: processing, assembly and packaging.
- The power battery module can form a complete power battery pack through structural design, power battery management system and thermal management system. The power battery pack is fixed at the design position through process and structure to give full play to the function of electric energy charging, discharging and storage. It can be said that the basic function of the module is connection, fixation and safety protection.
- The power battery cell is divided according to the cathode material, mainly including lithium cobalt oxide, lithium manganese oxide, lithium iron phosphate and nickel cobalt lithium manganese oxide ternary materials. The structure of power battery module must support, fix and protect the cell, which can be summarized into three major items: mechanical strength, electrical performance, thermal performance and fault handling capacity.
- According to the structure and shape of the cell, the power battery module can be divided into three types: cylindrical cell, square cell and soft bag, and their respective advantages and disadvantages are also very obvious. To a certain extent, the performance of the cell determines the performance of the power battery module, and then affects the performance of the whole power battery pack. Therefore, when designing the power battery pack, we must select the material and shape of the battery cell according to the design requirements of the whole vehicle.
